karen gray houston has more on this story from southeast. >> reporter: this southeast community is shaken after a man shot a woman to death on a metrobus and left a small child injured and hospitalized. police are desperately seeking the public's help to find the killer. the b2 bus had stopped at 18th and minnesota to pick up passengers. police say the unidentified woman had just taken the child out of a stroller. a young woman who was on the bus at the time but did not want to speak on camera tells me just as the two got on board the man she thought was a boyfriend stepped into the well of the bus, pulled a gun out of his pocket and started firing. that woman tells me bullets killed one person, struck the child and may have hit another person. she says passengers were screaming duck down, duck and telling the bus driver go, go, go! the suspect fled and the driver drove the bus another block before pulling over. >> once they got on the bus a male subject followed close behind her and opened fire into the bus. the young woman who is an adult -- we don't have an exact age on her r

the fireball over texas. a bright light was seen streaking across the houston sky friday morning and for a few hours it was the walk of the town. debra wrigley of ktrk has the story. >> reporter: from a nasa camera, it looked like a bright light above the earth. these are from eyewitness viewers around the houston area. just as day was breaking a bright flash of light that some people thought was lightning. >> i was like i guess it's going to rain. >> reporter: it wasn't the weather and it was spotted all around texas. this map just a sampling of sightings in the houston area, and these are some of the pictures sent to abc 13.com showing a small area of colored light. others showing a trail behind it. and people have been talking about it all day. >> like a ufo, taking a picture of the sky, like a big flash. >> co-workers who are talking about did you hear about the flash this morning? i'm like flash? should i be concerned? >> reporter: at the houston museum of natural science, not concern, but a lot of curiosity. >> it's going so fast it actually gets through the atmosphere. that makes the gl

gray houston is on scene at 19th and minnesota avenue with the very latest. >> reporter it must have been terrifying for the woman who was killed and for all the people who were on the bus and this is the bus right over here, the b2 at the corner right now of minnesota avenue and 19th street. this terrible shooting happened a block away from here and a short time ago a spoke to a young woman who said she was on the bus when the shooting happened. she said that when the shots rang out, all of the passengers yelled out duck, duck and they told the driver go, go, go. now the toddler who was on the bus believed to be younger than 3 years old is being treated for unspecified injuries at a local hospital. gunshots rang out around 5:45 in the evening when metrobus no. b2 had stopped on minnesota avenue at 18th street. the woman and child got on. >> once they got on the bus a male subject followed close behind her and opened fire into the bus. the young woman who is an adult. we don't have an exact age on her right now. she was shot multiple times. the child has some injuries, don't know wh

in houston, chicago and new york city staying dry in denver. 36 degrees is the forecasted high in denver this afternoon. here's a look at the forecast over the next several days. tuesday into wednesday things get unsettled in the the bay area and we have slight chance of rain. doesn't look like a whole lot in either system. but a good idea to pack your umbrella. that is a check of your forecast. >>> we're following a developing situation out of san leandro where a big rig may have hilt power lines and we have getting word this big rig may be on fair. this is on fairmont between 580 and lake chabot. we have news crew coming out to the scene for new information and in the meantime expect closures and delays. fairmont between 580 and lakes chabot. caltrans is busy this morning. northbound 880. is and on the upper deck of the bay bridge, road work there, one lane shut down as you head into the san francisco. on the lower deck no troubles but later on today they have roadwork that should get under way until 8:00. hopefully no delays. should be quiet through the midday. south 101 out of marin

: hi, megyn, yes. that famous phrase, houston, we've got a problem, well, the normally-secretive north korea has announced they've got a problem also with their planned missile launch over the next few weeks. now, what the spokesman for north korea said was that there was a technical problem with their engine module, and they didn't really elaborate any further than that. but they did say they were extending the launch period from now until december 29th. and they added despite the problems, they were pushing ahead with final preparations for the launch. scientists say the problem could be the unusually freezing weather around the site at the moment which could stall the liftoff. some analysts also suggesting the delay may be, in fact, because its ally, china, has put pressure on by i don't pyongyanp the launch. but kim jong un seems to be pushing for the rocket test. remember, both his father and grandfather. pyongyang has called the planned launch a peaceful bid to push forward its space program and says it was the last wish of kim jung-il. and december the 17th is also an auspicious
